Image Make-Over Session

MCCC Image Make-Over Session
Have you ever wondered how another photographer might process your image? Would you like their version? What might you learn from their vision and methods?
Well, Ray Woodward has often asked himself these questions and decided to put forward an image for a make-over by fellow members Ray G, Ray H and Judy. The photo of Eilean Donan Castle was “straight out of the camera” and definitely needed some enhancement in Photoshop.
I think you will agree that all three versions are a dramatic improvement on the original which was rather flat. The castle, being the main focal point, has been brightened so that it stands out more and detail and colour have been brought out in the hills and sky.
Our three post-processors used either Photoshop, Elements or Lightroom and/or Nik Software to dramatically improve the look of the image and two of them just couldn’t help their creative juices and turned the peaceful landscape into a battlefield.
Ray Woodward was delighted with the results and said he had learnt a lot from seeing just how his image could be improved and thanked the three “helpers” for their time and enthusiasm.
The club is aware that with a differing range of abilities some members need more help than others to make the most of their images and with that in mind this may be something we do again.
Are you willing to be the next guinea pig?
